What is Holistic Nutrition?

Holistic Nutrition is about more than putting someone on a diet. It is about food, and our relationship with it. Often we have a disconnect between what we are eating and our health. For example – we notice symptoms of digestive upset but avoid the possibility of the food we enjoy causing this distress. That is where nutrition comes in – Holistic Nutrition is about finding a balance, it is about eating things we love and feeling great while doing so.

What does a consultation look like?

If this is your first appointment you will be asked to complete a confidential intake form; initial visits typically last 45-60 minutes. Each subsequent session is approximately 30 minutes. During your appointment you will sit down together with our R.H.N. Jenna Sholinder, discuss your goals, talk about challenges for you and what has worked well/not worked in the past. Jenna will gather information about your symptoms and discuss potential options moving forward.

Programs include a 3 day meal plan or menu options, recipes for suggested meals, and customized recommendations for dietary and lifestyle change. Depending on your specific condition, your age, your overall health, and whether your condition is acute or chronic, you may require multiple appointments. Hormones (for example) can take time to balance, where as you can feel some relief digestive upset after a week of adjusted eating. If you are seeing Jenna to prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy or for weight loss, multiple appointments are recommended and discounted rates may apply.
